Reconstruction decision
The repository did not contain the original processed panels or the historical backup files required by the legacy R scripts. The reconstruction therefore follows a two-track protocol:
- Attempt to redownload the original country-regulator sources referenced by the legacy scripts.
- Build a reproducible official annual equivalent panel from World Bank WDI so the empirical pipeline produces real, inspectable outputs rather than placeholders.

Important limitation
CreditType.reconstructed and EconomicSector.reconstructed are official annual equivalents, not the exact lost monthly product-credit and sector-credit panels. This is a deliberate transparency decision: the project uses recoverable public data and documents unrecovered legacy sources instead of fabricating disaggregation.
